On Tuesday evening, Coach Campbell and the WF Football teams stepped off the football field and into our community to serve those in need in conjunction with The Aris Foundation. At the beginning of this year, Coach Campbell announced to the teams at their football camp that the seasons driving idea is “Selflessness over Selfishness”, and as the season ramps up towards their State Championship, these boys are demonstrating that this idea has taken deep root on and off the field. Loaded down with food, clothing, water bottles, and a desire to help those in our community in need, the WF football team brought cheer, warmth, and goodwill to all who were there. It was inspiring to witness. All together, the boys served 17 smoked turkeys (255lbs!!!), 20lbs of ham, 130lbs of mashed potatoes, 20lbs of sweet potatoes, 6 full size pans of homemade stuffing, 4 full pans of green beans, 4 bags of salad, 360 rolls, 16 pumpkin pies, dozens upon dozens of Holiday Cookies, 40lbs of apples, and 10lbs of oranges. They provided jackets to little kids so they’d stay warm, and filled bottles with hot cocoa and coffee for adults. All was provided by the WF Football Families across all levels. We can’t wait to see the boys back working with The Aris Foundation this coming Christmas Eve!
